- Zokkiie2 juillet 2026The creature is easily the reason to watch this one. Pumpkinhead looks awesome, and the practical effects still hold up really well today. The darker atmosphere and creepy backwoods setting also do a lot to make the movie feel different from your average 80s horror. You can tell a lot of care went into the monster itself. The story is pretty simple and moves a bit slower than I expected. Some scenes drag, and it never gets quite as intense as it feels like it should. Still, the creature design, atmosphere, and overall look of the movie make it worth checking out. Not one of my favorite 80s horror movies, but definitely one with a memorable monster.
- Kevin Ward4 novembre 2025Probably like it more out of nostalgia than anything else, but Pumpkinhead still scratches that ‘80s horror itch. The monster effects are fantastic, Stan Winston’s creature design is goated and the backwoods atmosphere gives it that campfire-tale vibe. The story’s a little thin and the pacing drags in spots, but Lance Henriksen’s grief-stricken performance holds it together. It’s grim, weirdly sad, and totally of its era. Great pick and a fun revisit.

Ed Harley est un fermier américain qui mène une vie tranquille avec son fils de dix ans jusqu'au jour où celui-ci est tué accidentellement par une bande de motards. Désormais son seul désir est la vengeance. Il se souvient alors d'un funeste secret, bien gardé par les anciens du pays, un secret appelé "Le démon d'Halloween", le démon de la vengeance. Une vieille sorcière invoque pour lui la créature, l'ultime force du mal. Ed obtient ce qu'il voulait mais finit par se rendre compte que ce n'est pas la mort des assassins qui lui rendra son fils. Or il n'y a plus moyen de mettre fin aux agissements de ce monstre assoiffé de sang. En libérant cette force incontrôlable, reflet de sa haine, il scelle également son sort et sa propre malédiction…
