The comedy is quite a but edgier than that of the 80s ALF television show, but still a family-friendly movie, but it will entertain kids & adults alike. It may be a made-for-tv-movie, but it delivers on laughs and is definitely the best movie I've ever seen starring Gordon Shumway.
- Richard21 avril 2026I grew up watching the ALF TV series on TV as a kid, and for the longest time I never even knew Project: ALF existed. The show just ended, no real finale, and that was it, so finding out years later that they actually made a TV movie to wrap things up was a surprise. The movie picks up after the series finale, with ALF captured by the government and stuck in a military facility. It has a different tone from the sitcom,no Tanner family, no cozy suburban chaos,but ALF is still ALF: sarcastic, hungry and constantly pushing everyone’s buttons. The humor is broader, the setting is more sci‑fi than livingroom comedy and it feels very much like a 90s TV movie trying to give fans some kind of closure. It’s not the same magic as the original series, but it’s interesting to see ALF in a completely different environment and it finally gives some resolution to the cliffhanger the show left behind. For anyone who grew up with ALF on TV, Project: ALF feels like a strange but nostalgic bonus chapter you never knew you missed.

L'histoire commence là où la série s'était terminée, lorsque Gordon Shumway - mieux connu sous le nom de Alf, acronyme de "Alien Life Form" - est capturé par la Task Force Alien de l'US Air Force alors qu'il tente de quitter la Terre. Alf est alors enfermé à la base Edmonds, sous les ordres du colonel Milfoil. Ce dernier prévoit de tuer Alf pour les besoins d'un produit de beauté, en prenant soin de laisser une lettre mettant en cause son aide de camp, le lieutenant Reese, comme bouc-émissaire. Apprenant cela, 2 scientifiques de l'US Air Force - le major Mellisa Hill et le capitaine Rick Mullican - décident d'aider Alf à s'échapper, et parviennent à se réfugier dans un motel. La police et l'armée alertées, les 3 fugitifs se tournent alors vers Dexter Moyers, un ancien scientifique de la NASA. Son idée est de révéler au monde entier l'existence de Alf. Cependant, Mélissa découvre que Moyers a comme plan secret de vendre Alf au plus offrant.
