Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
Réalisé par Quentin Tarantino- cultfilmliker9 avril 2026Watched the first half on an iPad and the second half in 4K on the big screen….you know, as intended Just an excess number of driving shots. Hope Quentin learned his lesson from Kill Bill and isn’t putting actors or stuntmen at risk of death anymore! And ugh the foot shots man….get a fucking grip on yourself Truly cannot get over how much Polanski looks like Austin Powers at the party Did love the Kate Berlant part! Dakota Fanning, Harley Quinn Smith, Victoria Pedretti, Maya Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Sydney Sweeney, and Mikey Madison all being part of the cult is as insane as the cult itself. Oh, and Austin Butler Also, Mikey getting burnt alive in a film twice in a couple of years will never not be funny as hell I’ve really gotta start trusting drunk Dylan more. His opinions are valid!
- makdelart5 mars 2026Tarantino, known for his cinematic erudition, who throughout his professional life has paid homage to exploitation cinema, Italian genre productions and old classic Hollywood, had to make such a film eventually. He transported us back in time to Hollywood in the late 1960s, on the cusp of change, and told the story of a fictional film and television star (played by DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Brad Pitt), intertwining it with real characters: Polanski, Sharon Tate, the Manson Family, etc. The director deserves respect for his extremely authentic reproduction of the scenographic details of the era and for his numerous references to his favourite films from those years. Unfortunately, it is a pity that the film's plot is a little weak, the pace is slow, and it gives the impression of being a series of disjointed and unrelated sequences, which, however, allows the viewer to get a feel for the era and empathise with the characters. The finale, on the other hand, rewards the viewer's patience and provides an unforgettable experience.
- romandini330 juillet 2025Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a film for film lovers. It is an ode to the old Hollywood and Quentin's finest work. It takes its time, doesn't rush, marinades in nostalgia and it perfected late 60s atmosphere and builds up to one of the most unforgettable endings of all time. People who only see films as a "fun-evening-filler" probably won't like it but any moviebuff will smile cheek to cheek from beginning to end.
