Not Without Hope

Alors qu’ils tentent de libérer une ancre coincée avant qu’une violente tempête ne s’abatte sur eux, leur bateau chavire, projetant brutalement les quatre amis dans l’eau glacée. Le capitaine de la Garde côtière américaine Timothy Close et son équipage, qui tentent en vain un sauvetage aérien, font appel à leur plus grand navire pour traverser l’océan déchaîné. Chaque seconde compte alors que le groupe se bat contre des vagues gigantesques, la déshydratation, l’hypothermie sévère et des requins affamés, dans une lutte acharnée pour survivre et retrouver leurs proches bouleversés.

- tachioma7 janvier 2026Decent overall. If you know nothing about this (true story) then the trailer kinda leads you in the wrong direction. Sounds gets a little mushed in the waves and they use "misty glass plate" over the camera a little too often. Acted well though, defo worth a watch.

Not to understate or take away from the real story at all in any way, but a few guys being stuck in sea, clinging to a capsized boat doesn't make for much storytelling. But if not for the story, then what else? Visuals? Well, it's just water. Music? It's decent. Not really sure about the impact here, because the book was far better than the film.
- mfasul25 janvier 2026Terrible movie. The screenplay was horrid and the acting wasn't much better. The bad decisions made by the group were impressively stupid. Hey, let's go fishing 70 miles offshore when a big storm is coming, and be sure not to have a tracking beacon or a radio.
