I just watched Norbit, and I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This movie is completely wild in the best way. It’s loud, chaotic, and ridiculous from beginning to end — but that’s exactly why it works. It knows it’s over-the-top, and it doesn’t hold back for a second. It’s not trying to be serious or realistic. It’s just trying to make you laugh and go, “What did I just watch?” And honestly, I had a blast. Eddie Murphy steals the whole show — times three. He plays Norbit, Rasputia, and Mr. Wong, and each one is so different that you forget it’s even him. Norbit is the soft-spoken, sweet guy who’s just trying to survive. Rasputia is absolute chaos — she’s loud, aggressive, dramatic, and somehow hilarious every second she’s on screen. Then there’s Mr. Wong, who says the craziest stuff with a straight face. Eddie Murphy really gave everything to this movie, and it shows. He carries the whole thing with nonstop energy. The story is simple but entertaining. Norbit’s stuck in a miserable life with Rasputia, who bullies him nonstop and controls everything. Then his childhood love shows back up, and he starts trying to find a way out and get his life back. Of course, everything goes off the rails — in the best way. It’s one wild scene after another, full of fights, schemes, and jokes that just keep coming. The supporting cast fits right in with the craziness. Thandiwe Newton is really solid as the calm, sweet love interest, and Terry Crews brings his usual intense, funny vibe. The brothers who run the orphanage are hilarious too. Everyone has a part to play in the madness, and it all comes together like a cartoon brought to life. The comedy is loud, in-your-face, and definitely not for everyone. A lot of it is crude and totally exaggerated — but if you’re in the mood for something completely unfiltered and ridiculous, it hits. I was cracking up at scenes that were just so wild you couldn’t help but laugh. Whether it’s Rasputia driving like a maniac, crashing through stuff, or saying her signature line, it’s nonstop. And Eddie Murphy just commits to it all with zero hesitation. What actually surprised me was the heart buried under all the madness. You really feel bad for Norbit. He’s a good guy in a bad situation, and even though everything is played for laughs, you still want to see him break free and find happiness. It’s not deep or emotional, but it gives the story a little more weight than just slapstick. And that helps the ending land in a satisfying way. I give Norbit 4.5 out of 5 stars because it’s one of those comedies that completely owns its weirdness. It’s bold, off-the-wall, and hilarious but it also gives you a character to root for and enough heart to make it more than just a bunch of gags. Eddie Murphy delivers something that’s totally his, and I respect how hard he went for it. Overall Norbit is a loud, funny, ridiculous ride that doesn’t hold back. It’s not perfect, but if you’re into wild comedies with big energy and even bigger characters, this one’s unforgettable. I’ll definitely be rewatching it again.

I like the concept of the movie. It was funny at times, but still the overall plot was not that great.
