Noise Notations et commentaires
- Kevin Ward25 juillet 2025Noise is an atmospheric slow-burn that leans more procedural than pulse-pounding, but if you stick with it, there’s a pretty satisfying payoff waiting at the end. The story follows a woman investigating the disappearance of her sister, moving into her apartment and slowly getting to know the neighbors—each of them holding a piece of the puzzle, or maybe just a few more questions. It cleverly incorporates the protagonist’s hearing aids and speech recognition app into both the narrative and the scares and also plays with sound in creative, sometimes deeply unnerving ways. There’s one moment in particular that is genuinely ear-piercing. I’ve never had a film physically make me recoil from the sound design like that before. If you have sensitive hearing, prepare yourself. (No joke, this is a warning) It’s not a high-octane horror experience, but if you’re in the mood for something with just enough supernatural tension to keep the hairs on your neck raised—this one’s worth a watch. The ending especially clicked for me, tying the themes and mystery together in a way that felt pretty satisfying. Seen at Fantasia 2025.
- T R15 mars 2026This movie is a lean, atmospheric nightmare that successfully recaptures the slow-burn dread of classic K-Horror. By prioritizing psychological tension over cheap jump scares, it feels deeply reminiscent of the early 2000s wave of Korean cinema, specifically echoing the domestic anxiety found in A Tale of Two Sisters and the urban paranoia of Hide and Seek. It replaces modern CGI spectacle with meticulous sound design, proving that the most unsettling terrors are often the ones left to the imagination.
- kenngineer3 septembre 2025the jumpscares are a given. it is the twists that will kinda wreck you with "who really did it? *pause* oh, damn." solid Asian horror. Great choice for scary movie night.
