- cloudsrival7 août 2025It's a feminist's take on Beau Is Afraid, but the story is less coherent and less engaging than that fantasy. It's not scary nor harrowing, but instead it revolves around symbolism and gender identity. The movie is somehow a circular take on itself, where it starts after it ends--and the reason for the beginning happens in the end--though the chronology of the movie appears to be sequential between scenes. The monster in this movie is every man, with the grotesque creature being equated to heterosexual copulation. The creators were trying to express how they felt, and I think that makes it incredible to like-minded people. It's very mid for a generalist moviegoer like myself.

Kay a des soucis. Une étrange rencontre dans les bois lui a fait perdre la mémoire. Une seule chose est sûre : elle est le portrait craché de Barb Valentine, chasseuse de monstres portée disparue. Lorsqu'un intrus s'introduit dans sa maison, elle s'enfuit sans savoir où elle va, mais elle sait que sa seule chance de retrouver sa vie est de faire la lumière sur la mystérieuse disparition de Barb. Le hasard des rencontres semble l'orienter dans la bonne direction, mais ce qui devait être un voyage à la découverte de soi se transforme peu à peu en une chasse au monstre.
