Pour Lewis Thomas, un étudiant du New Jersey, les vacances d'été s'annoncent exceptionnelles. Venna, la fille qu'il tente de séduire, l'invite à venir la chercher dans le Colorado. Mais avant de s'y rendre, il fait un détour par la prison où Fuller, son frère, vient juste de sortir. Sur le chemin, celui-ci provoque avec la vieille radio CB un routier, dont ils ne connaissent que le pseudonyme, "Clou rouillé", en feignant un rendez-vous érotique avec une nymphomane. Les deux frères passent la nuit dans un motel au bord de l'autoroute et Lewis invite leur contact radio à venir le rejoindre. Ce dernier prend toutefois le soin de donner le numéro de la chambre voisine. "Clou rouillé" est moins drôle qu'ils le pensaient, car, durant la nuit, il descend leur voisin. C'est maintenant au tour de ce mystérieux criminel de s'amuser un peu.

- Jordan Jones12 novembre 2025JOYRIDE - is an excellent cat and mouse on the road thriller that really earns and puts its place alongside the best ones in that Sub - genre such as The Hitcher, Duel and Breakdown. What I loved about Joyride is the randomness of how and what started this whole incident off in the 1st place, it just felt realistic and scary in that sense because at some point in our lives especially when we were younger we've all done pranks on people for shits and giggles and usually nothing serious happens but what's not to say that you could do it to literally the wrong person and that person then does not leave you alone and wants to make you suffer as a result, when you stop and think about that it's frightening and real because that could really happen. Another thing that I really loved about this film is the chemistry between Paul Walker and Steve Zahn they really feel like real brothers and I thought they bounced well off eachother that's how most brothers are in real life you get one that's the trouble making one and the other is the more laid back one very realistic. I also liked near the middle of the film where they thought Rustynail had left them alone for good and he just rings Lewis from out of nowhere and just says you never told me there was a girl, out of nowhere that was well timed creepy and effective. And finally I really loved the 3rd act and Rustynail was a very scary, disturbing mysterious and eerie villain, probably one of the most underrated movie villains of all time in my opinion and back to the finale now, what I loved was you feel gripped watching thinking are they going to reach Venna in time you just feel anxious and exhausted just watching, the fact that you only see glimpses of Rustynail and never full on makes it that much more impactful and effective this is a perfect example of where less is more and it keeps that mystique of the Rustynail character intact as well which is crucial and I also love how the movie ends on a cliffhanger just the ✅️ and perfect ending for a movie like this in my mind! 👍👍 👌👌
