Up until six years ago, Marlies was completely unaware that her father's family held a dark secret. Then a moment came in which her father was no longer able to remain silent. Her father Marco told his wife and children that he had been abused as a child. In the film "My Father's Secret", Marlies talks with her father about his history as a victim of incest. Together, they make the trip to his holiday home in the Harfsen forest. During their stay, Marlies seeks to understand her father's painful past. Their conversation reveals the marks the abuse left on her father and how these affected Marlies, his daughter.
