- Danish01-6 jDomination, obedience, pity, control, and obsession: is this love? Or just a distraction to keep life "interesting"? By cultivating sympathy through artificial, performative, and manipulative tactics these characters play with their own emotions in a game of "push+pull." Tonally interesting music, Y2K-Japan cityscapes/fashion, strong "medical fetish" imagery, unconventional relationships, some dry humor, hypnotizingly lingering shots, a gentle atmosphere that masks a boiling desire under the surface. The central conflict is not between the characters but rather within themselves and "outsourced" onto others so as to complement each other (1+1=1?). The lies we tell ourselves become our reality.

22-year old secretary Kazuko first bumps into Tamaki on the way back from work. Tamaki is crawling along the sidewalk on crutches at a snail's pace, and stumbles into the young audio-typist after apparently having trouble with an ill-fitting shoe over her cast. After helping her back to her feet, Kazuko follows Tamaki back to her apartment, the two of them barely exchanging words. Once in Tamaki's room, Kazuko is dispatched on an errand to fetch some beer - Their game begins.
