If you find yourself confused or uninterested early on, feel free to skip ahead or move on entirely. Some films reward patience—this one didn’t for me. Fluxx is a movie that tries incredibly hard to be something it simply isn’t… and that something is interesting. I genuinely tried to meet the film halfway and be the engaged viewer it clearly wanted me to be, but it never gave me much to work with. The cast includes some notable actors who initially convinced me to give it a shot, and visually the film leans into an A24‑style palette—moody colors, atmospheric framing, that indie‑art‑house vibe. But style alone can’t save a film that never finds its footing. I lost interest about fifteen minutes in, skipped ahead to the final stretch, and still found nothing compelling enough to make me want to go back and fill in the gaps. Even the title feels disconnected from whatever the movie was trying to say. Maybe I’m the odd one out, but I honestly couldn’t tell you what this film is actually about. If you’re someone who enjoys abstract storytelling, pretty visuals, and recognizable actors in roles that don’t quite fit any clear genre, you might find something here. For me, though, none of that was enough. It’s a pass.
