Ben Crandall est un jeune garçon passionné par les extra-terrestres, vivant dans la banlieue de Washington. Il aime regarder de vieux films de science-fiction, et fait chaque nuit des rêves étranges dans lesquels il voit un gigantesque circuit imprimé. Avec l'aide de ses amis Wolfgang et Darren, ils parviennent à reproduire ce circuit et découvrent qu'il sert à développer un champ de force. À l'aide de celui-ci et de matériaux récupérés de la casse du père de Darren, ils construisent un vaisseau spatial qu'ils baptisent « Thunder Road » en référence à la chanson de Bruce Springsteen.

- Zokkiie27 décembre 2025A quirky 80s sci-fi with a fun, out-there idea and definite Spielberg vibes. The story gets a bit messy and rushed at times, but the sense of adventure and creativity mostly carries it. Not a perfect movie, but it’s a fun, nostalgic ride that’s easy to sit back and enjoy.
- Richard29 septembre 2025I first saw Explorers on a rented VHS tape, probably from the corner video store with faded carpet and shelves packed with possibility. That tape had the kind of wear that only comes from being loved by dozens of kids before me and when I popped it into the VCR, I was gone. The first half is pure magic, but the second half gets strange. The movie isn’t perfect. But for anyone who ever dreamed of building something wild in their backyard and launching into the stars, it’s unforgettable.
