Validating and inspiring story, makes my younger(and current) anxious self feel seen. The acting, cinematography, and film score are all incredible, too.

Just insane the way Bo summed up how scary and awful growing up is. As someone still trying to work through social anxiety and all those things I feel for Kayla so much. This was just all so crazy and when she was Googling how to give a bj and I was about to scream cause why would you try to learn like that and why would you let that be in your search history

Wow, we all want to be young again until we remember how hard being young is. This girl conveyed very well a lot of the feelings you go through at that age. It was a cute movie.

The point is to cringe and it does it

Stellar performance from Elsie Fisher will make you grateful you’re old enough to drink.

When treated like an extended TV episode of something, this is an inoffensive snippet of a Californian teenage girl's angst and for me the conversations it provoked while watching were more interesting than the film itself. It was fine but I wouldn't seek it out. Also the Dad character is pathetic in every way.

Written and Directed Bo Burnham, Eighth Grade is an incredibly powerful look into the social hierarchy of the Snapchat generation. It centers on a girl in Middle School, who's just trying to make it through, ever attached to social media. How does it impact someone to be able to be judged 24/7? And what does it mean when you've never seen the world any other way. One conversation from this movie has really stuck with me. The main character meets with some high schoolers, and they ask "How old were you when you got Snapchat?". She replies, "Fifth grade." and they all laugh and bond over it. Scares the shit out of me.
