This one was a bit more tongue in cheek, but the basic tools for a good time if you like these low budget badly scripted and acted sword and sorcery movies are there, such as lots of blood and boobs. This does have some great creature model effects and some great battle scenes (love the one where the pig guy rips a man's arm off so that he can continue beating the crap out of another dude, and the guy whose eye has been pulled out!), so certainly not for everyone, but I loved it. Shout out to Lana Clarkson's ridiculous outfits (or lack thereof...).
- BEAULONEA10 octobre 2025It’s pretty clear this one was riding the wave of Conan’s success. I’ll give it credit for the practical effects, always love seeing those, but wow, what is going on with this story? I’ve seen paper plates with more depth. Feels like the director had a goal, and “make a good movie” just wasn’t it. Shallow story, even shallower characters… mostly just smut wrapped in swords and loincloths.
- Callum4 janvier 2026⭐⭐ – Deathstalker – Conan the Barbarian (Wish Edition) With Bonus Boobs The original Deathstalker is exactly what it feels like within the first five minutes: a bargain-bin Conan clone drenched in gratuitous nudity and held together by whatever plot glue they could scrape off the 1980s fantasy shelf. It’s swords, sorcery, skin, and not much else — the kind of film you’d find on a dusty VHS rack next to Beastmaster and three unrelated sequels that somehow all share the same title. There are no real standout performances here. Most of the cast were unknowns then and are even more unknown now, and when Barbi Benton counts as one of the “big names,” that probably tells you everything you need to know about the film’s cinematic aspirations. The acting is wooden, the dialogue is embarrassingly stilted, and the story is basically “guy with sword wanders around until the runtime is over.” But… it is watchable in that very specific 80s-schlock way. It’s goofy, it’s cheap, it’s full of completely unnecessary nudity, and it never pretends to be anything other than fantasy pulp made for people who wanted Conan but didn’t want to pay for Conan. Forgettable? Yes. Fun if you’re in the right mood (or with the right friends)? Also yes. 🍺 Pairing: A warm, flat ale — the kind of drink you’d find at a dodgy medieval tavern run by people who absolutely didn’t check your ID, matching the movie’s level of quality perfectly.
