En rentrant chez elle un soir, Trudy meurt écrasée par une voiture. L’autopsie révèle qu’elle n’a jamais eu d’enfant. Peu après, d'autres faits étranges commencent à apparaître. Pendant que l'inspecteur de police Mellema traque le conducteur de la voiture, Valérie commence à chercher ses vrais parents...
