- Tubeman7223 octobre 2025For fans of Tim Burton, 2005 turned out to be a remarkable year. While the acclaimed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was still playing in theaters, the release of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride soon followed—a stop-motion animated film that takes us on the adventures of the shy Victor in the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead. It’s a story featuring two charming brides, both beautiful and kind—though one is a bit timid, and the other decidedly dead. Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride unfolds in a world unmistakably shaped by the twisted, rebellious, and imaginative mind of Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow (1999), Big Fish (2003)). In the fantasy of the American director, the Land of the Living becomes a bleak and suffocating place, while the Land of the Dead bursts with color, noise, music, and life. And while Victor’s living bride is sweet but rather plain, his deceased bride is a woman of a very different kind. Though she occasionally loses an arm or a leg, and her right eye tends to pop out of its socket, she is a seductive and strikingly attractive corpse—one with a heart of gold, even if it no longer beats. Although Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride has its dark and macabre sides, its underlying message is a plea for a colorful, humane, and imaginative life. That message is delivered through a dazzling animation filled with bizarrely dressed characters, inventive choreography, and stunning sets. Unlike their surroundings, the three main characters aren’t particularly creepy. They possess romantic souls and refuse to be constrained by the rigid Victorian morals of their time, quietly rebelling in their own way. It’s these endearing characters—combined with the exuberant visual and musical style—that make Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride such a delightful film. If one were to nitpick (as we tend to do here in the Land of the Living), the plot may be a bit thin, and the contrasts somewhat overstated. Still, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride remains a top-tier recommendation, and 2005 will not soon be forgotten by Burton’s devoted fans.

- ርልዪረ2 février 2025I am such a great fan of Jodie Foster and everytime a film of hers is shown on television I always watch it. I started to watch Contact with no enthuasiasm whatsoever - it's a Sci - Fi film, need I continue? But then I came to see that it was so much more than that. I think everyone at at least one point in life mustv'e questioned it's meaning; what are we all doing here? Does God really exist? And this film deals with all those issues without making it to religious or "mushy". It just really gets you thinking. It's an amazing film with a really strong cast, and Robert Zemickis, who hasn't heard of him?! There isn't anything I don't like about it and everytime I see it, it hits my really hard and saddens me. We really are all so alone. It is exetremely thought provoking and it has since inspired me to become an astronomer myself! Please don't listen to reviews who completely rip it apart - fair enough everyone has different tastes, but if you just gave it a go, with an open mind and an open heart, I think you would really love it. I can't even begin describe what a great script it has and the way the story evolves. It is one of my favourite films and it has taught me to never judge a film by it's cover. Being a philosopher myself, It copes with the religious issues exetremely well without being boring or over the top to people who aren't religious, It just gets them thinking. All my friends love this film, and so do I. Just please, give it a go and you will also come to love it. It's time to make Contact!
