Are you kidding me?? Don't take MY word for it; go and watch Space Ice rattle off five airtight reasons Con Air is king of the mid-’90s explosion-fest. And good lord—if you press play on a movie literally called "Con Air" expecting Tarantino dialogue or Coppola camera poetry, you’ve wandered into the wrong terminal. What you do get is an unapologetic joyride of flaming fire trucks, mullets in the wind, and one-liners that stick harder than industrial Velcro. Malkovich menaces, Buscemi creeps, Rhames intimidates, Trejo terrifies, and even a pre-fame Dave Chappelle pinballs punchlines before the fuselage even lifts. The result? A soaring, sweat-glazed masterpiece of ’90s action excess—pure, high-altitude awesome. ✈️🔥

A classic, as corny as it is thrilling.

Suspend your disbelief at the door. This is a fun movie with extremely unrealistic events and circumstances, as any good action film should be. This movie is also full of something a lot of modern films don't have, characters. Overall I'd call this a high flying film that is a little sappy at times, and a lot of fun to watch for it's quick pace and over the top sequences.

Saw it in the cinema, bought the DVD and still quote it like it’s gospel. This one’s peak ’90s action excess, a prison transport plane hijacked by the most colorful lineup of convicts ever assembled and Nicolas Cage in full mullet and muscle mode trying to get home to his daughter. It’s loud, ridiculous and absolutely glorious. The cast is stacked: Malkovich as the unhinged Cyrus “The Virus,” Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi (creepy but oddly poetic) and a pre fame Dave Chappelle tossing punchlines mid air. The plot? Doesn’t matter. The explosions? Frequent. The one-liners? Velcro grade stickiness. I saw it on the big screen, back when action movies came with sweaty close ups and guitar riffs and it stuck. Grabbed the DVD not long after and it’s stayed in rotation ever since. This is the movie that made me believe Cage could stop a plane crash with a tank top and a southern accent. “Put the bunny back in the box.” Cinema.

An interesting idea that gets injected with adrenaline and explosions. Cage is the perfect hero for such a crazy film. A lot of big names.

A movie that makes no sense from beginning to end but some how watchable

Very "turn off your brain" kind of action movie. Cage plays it very hammy but it suits the tone, Cusack is pretty average. Everyone else is competent, if a bit scenery chewing. It's fine, I'll go a generous three stars.

Nicolas Cage as a military vet finally coming home to meet the baby he’s never seen. He takes his wife out to dinner, kills a man in self-defense… and ends up on a prisoner transport plane. He’s rocking a “southern accent” (perfect, obviously), luxuriously thinning long hair that somehow flows, and a white tank top that could probably stop a bullet. Tough as nails. Die Hard? No — Con Air. Because the cons are in an airplane. In the air. This movie is pure Cage at his finest. If you claim to be a fan and haven’t seen it, you aren’t a Nic Cage fan yet. Watch it. Absurd story? Sure. But when you’ve got Cage, Ving Rhames, John Malkovich, and freaking Steve Buscemi all in one movie… how is this not a masterpiece? "Put the bunny back in the box." 10/10. Cinema.

Nicolas Cage's wig is worth the watch. That hair was snubbed at the Oscar’s!

This is a ‘Nick Cage’ kind of movie that just might be the Cagiest in the best way possible.
