- Benjamin Rayner6 avril 2026This is utterly bonkers fun and I know it's totally inappropriate for kids but my kid loves it, too. Shhhhh.

- Jabbar111124 janvier 2026Bad Trip is a comedy that lives and dies by shock value. Built around a loose road-trip story starring Eric André, Lil Rel Howery, and Tiffany Haddish, the film mixes scripted plot points with real hidden-camera pranks on unsuspecting strangers. Sometimes it lands with genuine laughs—but just as often, it leans so hard into outrageous behavior that the comedy feels forced rather than clever. Eric André fully commits to embarrassing himself in public, and there’s no denying his fearlessness. Lil Rel Howery shines as the grounded, relatable counterweight, reacting the way most people would if trapped in total chaos. Tiffany Haddish brings explosive energy as the vengeful ex, stealing scenes with sheer intensity alone. The performances are strong, but they’re constantly competing with the film’s reliance on shock. That’s where Bad Trip starts to wear thin. Shock humor can work in short bursts, but here it’s overused—often substituting discomfort for actual wit. Some pranks feel less like jokes and more like endurance tests, asking the audience to laugh simply because something extreme is happening. When the surprise fades, so does the impact. Ironically, the film’s best moments come when it pulls back. The reactions from everyday people—showing patience, empathy, or genuine concern—are far more memorable than the stunts themselves. Those moments hint at a smarter, more human comedy that the movie only occasionally taps into. Visually rough and intentionally unpolished, Bad Trip feels authentic but also uneven. The story is thin, the pacing inconsistent, and the humor hit-or-miss. If you enjoy chaotic, uncomfortable comedy, you’ll find plenty to laugh at. If you’re looking for something sharper or more thoughtful, the shock-first approach may leave you wanting more. In the end, Bad Trip is entertaining in bursts but limited by its dependence on shock humor. It’s funny when it trusts its characters and the humanity of strangers—and weakest when it confuses being outrageous with being clever. Despite a few amusing reactions from unsuspecting strangers, Bad Trip relies almost entirely on shock humor that feels lazy, repetitive, and more uncomfortable than funny. The performances can’t save a movie that mistakes outrageous behavior for clever comedy. Any genuine human moments are buried under forced antics, leaving the film feeling more exhausting than entertaining. One and a half stars for effort—but not for execution.
