This is still peak Marvel for me. Somehow it manages to juggle a ridiculous number of characters without anyone feeling completely forgotten, and it never loses momentum. The action is incredible, the cast is on top form, and Thanos ended up being way better than I ever expected. Every time the movie cuts to another group, you're just as invested as before. I know Endgame has the bigger payoff and the huge emotional moments, but as a complete movie, I think this one is stronger. The pacing is tighter, the story flows better, and it keeps the tension up from beginning to end. There are so many moments that still hit just as hard no matter how many times I watch it. Easily one of the best superhero movies ever made.

Best MCU movie of all time

Wow, folks hated my take, so let me revise and elaborate. Infinity War exists almost completely to set the table for Endgame. As a stand alone movie, it is an intensely frustrating movie because your heroes continuously fail. Their decisions and actions are repeatedly suspect as well as egregiously out of (well established) character, and almost everything feels as if it was table setting. It was, of course, as are many MCU plot points, but they usually don't *feel* like table setting. Because it is overstuffed, the new villains, Thanos aside, are not well fleshed out, which is a shame because several seemed like they cold be interesting. In conjunction with Endgame and a six-hour watch, Infinity War is not so bad, but as a stand alone feature I found the entire thing (Thor's arc aside) intensely frustrating.

    ## Synopsis The Avengers come back together to fight Thanos who is on the war path for the infinity stones. ## Review This was a great movie when it came out and is still a great movie. The storytelling from start to finish is layered in itself so much that comments and mentions from the beginning are slide into the ending. We have so many exciting events that take places in this movie. Now that I think about it, almost all of them involve Thor. We have him being called an Angel, then we have him taking “the full might of a dying star,” and finally his initial volley of attacks in Wakanda against the forces of Thanos. I mean is lightning leap is very cool and makes me think of Raidan from [[Mortal Kombat]]. Rocket and Bucky’s interaction is also iconic at this point. What upsets me from an entertainment mindset is the slow crawl of the first act. I am well aware they are setting everything up, and giving every group their time to set the stage, but it is painfully slow at times. I get it, but when you know it’s hard to not want to skip it. ## [My Rating] I really enjoy this movie. I like the fighting and the tactics from both good and bad forces. I like the emotion you get from the entire cast about the events at the end. “I don’t feel good Mr. Stark” is such an important line for him and it requires you to have paid attention to [[Spider-Man Homecoming]] and [[Civil War]]. Just an incredible movie. I’m going this a 9. ## [Parental Rating] Language is limited. No sex. Lots of alien violence. Dad is on board. A lot going on without a lot of frustration. Mom isn’t interested. Just isn’t her vibe. Approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.

When the Stakes Finally Felt Real "Avengers: Infinity War" is one of the most ambitious chapters in the MCU, bringing together an enormous cast of characters while still managing to tell a focused and compelling story. The scale is massive, but what makes the movie truly work is how well it balances spectacle with narrative momentum. The film moves at an impressive pace, jumping between multiple storylines without losing clarity. Each group of characters has its own dynamic, and the interactions feel natural despite the complexity of the ensemble. The action sequences are spectacular, but they never feel empty; they always serve the progression of the story. What truly elevates the movie is its central antagonist. The villain is given a surprising amount of depth, and his motivations drive the narrative in a way that feels both personal and terrifying. Instead of being just another obstacle for the heroes, he becomes the emotional and thematic core of the film. Visually, the movie delivers some of the most impressive set pieces in the MCU, combining cosmic environments with intense battles and quieter character moments. The pacing rarely slows down, yet the film still manages to give several emotional beats the time they need to resonate. "Avengers: Infinity War" is bold, intense, and emotionally impactful. A blockbuster that fully embraces its scale while still telling a powerful story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Avengers: Infinity War – When the villain wins, and it sticks. It’s still slightly wild that Marvel committed to this ending. Half the universe gone, heroes dusted mid-sentence, no last-minute save. Even knowing Endgame was coming, Infinity War lands with real weight — because in the moment, it has the courage to stop where most blockbusters would panic and reverse course. Yes, in hindsight the shock is softened. Marvel clearly knew they were making Endgame, and that everyone wasn’t staying dead forever. But that doesn’t undo how bold this felt at the time. The film doesn’t play like part one of a neat two-parter — it plays like a full story that just happens to end in failure. What elevates it is Thanos. He isn’t just a CGI obstacle; he’s the spine of the film. He asks uncomfortable questions, and worse — he asks them calmly. Watching this now, it feels very much of its time. Climate anxiety, overconsumption, the quiet fear that we know we’re doing wrong by the planet and still can’t seem to stop. Thanos represents the terrifying idea that maybe survival requires decisions we’re not brave enough to make ourselves. I don’t agree with him — mass murder isn’t a policy platform — but the fact the film lets you consider his logic is what makes Infinity War linger. It suggests that if we don’t change, something will force the issue eventually. And that someone, somewhere, will be willing to make the hard calls when the rest of us won’t. This is Marvel at its most confident: juggling tone, scale, humour, and dread without blinking. It doesn’t give you closure. It gives you silence. 🍷 A dark red, heavy on the tannins — the kind that sits in your chest and doesn’t resolve cleanly.
