- Lorenzo Verde29 juin 2025For an entry in the action/thriller category, the pacing here is painfully slow. Filled with a star-studded cast, there is far too much back-story, and not enough cinematic foreshadowing of the impending doom. I understand this story is based on a best-selling novel at the time (1970), and that I'm evaluating this with 2025 sensibilities and attention-span, but the build-up to the big reveal of the threat here is yawn-inducing. Perhaps if Hitchcock had directed this, we may have gotten more drama and a more satisfying simmering of psychological excitement, but--to me--this mooophie commits the ultimate sin: it's boring.
- Dan S Turpin15 janvier 2025Ugh. THIS Shit was old-fashioned and cliched in 1970 and has not aged well. It might have worked had the action been more frequent, the tension unbearable, but it's not and here we are. Dean Martin and Burt Lancaster both called it, "Junk" and "The worst one of my career." STILL was a massive hit at the box office and a ratings smash when it aired for the first time in 1973.

L'aéroport international de Lincoln est pris dans une violente tempête de neige. Son directeur, Mel Bakersfeld, ne sait plus où donner de la tête. Les bourrasques empêchent un appareil de décoller et la neige bloque la piste principale. Au téléphone, Mel annonce une fois de plus à son épouse qu'elle devra se rendre seule à une soirée prévue de longue date. Pendant ce temps, le beau-frère de Mel, Vernon Demerest, un pilote, apprend au moment d'embarquer pour Rome que sa maîtresse est enceinte. Pour couronner le tout, un psychopathe, installé dans le Boeing de Vernon, menace de faire exploser l'appareil pour que sa femme touche sa prime d'assurance-vie. Mel est alerté aussitôt...
