Orange mécanique Notations et commentaires
- The Gutter Monkey23 mars 2025Viddy good,
- Callum8 novembre 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐½ – A Clockwork Orange – Violence, Virtue, and the Vicious Cycle of Man Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange is as hypnotic as it is horrifying — a film that still feels transgressive half a century later. It isn’t just about violence; it’s about the machinery of control, and what happens when society tries to cure evil by erasing choice itself. In a world obsessed with order, Kubrick asks whether a man stripped of free will is still a man at all. Malcolm McDowell delivers one of cinema’s great performances as Alex DeLarge — charming, articulate, monstrous, and magnetic. He makes the unwatchable watchable, luring you into his world of “ultraviolence” and moral decay before forcing you to confront your own discomfort at being entertained by it. The infamous “Singin’ in the Rain” sequence remains one of film’s most disturbing juxtapositions: joy and cruelty perfectly choreographed into something unforgettable. Kubrick directs with cold precision — the geometry of his frames, the sterile futurism of his settings, and the ironic use of classical music all combine to turn brutality into art, and art into accusation. It’s not an easy film to sit through, nor should it be. Like Children of Men or Brazil, it sits in that uneasy middle ground between satire and nightmare, asking not whether humanity can be saved, but whether it deserves to be. It’s not for the faint-hearted, and it’s not meant to comfort. But it’s one of those rare works that stays with you — not because it’s pleasant, but because it forces you to look directly into the darker mirror of human nature. 🥃 Pairing: A glass of milk laced with rum — pure on the surface, dangerous underneath, and impossible to swallow without feeling its sting.

- Elliot04715 février 2026Kubrik Direction of this film is exceptional, he makes you immerse in his world, that's his style. I have a slight issue with so many coincidences happening in the movie, which, to be honest, is directly coming from the book 'A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burges', and maybe I'm not someone who likes that level of coincidences happening even in a book in order to serve allegory.
- eric564428 janvier 2026Meh overrated as hell.
- Karin e Boris10 janvier 2026I was cured, alright 😍
- Cubane31 décembre 2025Pros: Many phallic objects Cons: Not nearly enough phallic objects Oddly quotable and frequently referenced. It's an important one to see simply to participate in the cultural dialogue.
- Sun King15 décembre 2025Quality motion picture.
- mopr18 septembre 2025Gosh...good classic. Love the ending. Lots to take in on this movie
- seanp54213 septembre 2025Weirder than the Rocky horror picture show I never thought I'd be able to say that
- mickerdoo28 juin 2025A visceral rollercoaster from antagonist to victim. Sex and ultra violence riddled throughout. McDowell genuinely worries you.
- darsan25 mai 2025"goodness is something to be chosen. when a man cannot choose he ceases to be a man."
- Mister Arn13 mai 2025This is one of those films that I loved the art of how it played, but not it's content. I found the film thought-provoking and very disturbing.
- ZaCkOnE7 mai 2025Real Horrorshow.
- Joe Knapp3 février 2024A very intelligent movie that employs ultra-violence to paint a dystopian future where the practice of psychology goes off the rails. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. The acting is superb. It's one of those movies that broke the mold and changed the course of movie-making forever. Do not miss this one!
