    Saw this one on Dutch TV as a kid. It was pure comfort: a cruise ship full of romantic entanglements, cheesy drama and guest stars who always seemed vaguely familiar. Captain Stubing ran the ship with dad energy, Gopher was the goofy sidekick and Isaac the bartender had the best one-liners. Julie kept things organized while passengers fell in and out of love every episode. It was formulaic, but that was the charm. You knew someone would get dumped, someone would get kissed and someone would learn a life lesson, all before docking. As a kid, it felt glamorous. As an adult revisiting it, it’s campy, nostalgic and weirdly soothing.
