A friend recommended this 7-part HBO show called "Task" and we ALMOST turned it off during E01, but we had 12 minutes left and I told my g.f. we would change to another show when it was done. So it ends, I switch to another show and she starts getting all bent out of shape, "Why did you change it? We said we'd decide AFTER it ended? Put it back!" LOL ... needless to say we binge watched all six remaining episodes after that One of my favorite things about this show is IT ENDS! I don't mean that snarky, I mean... there's no stupid cliff hanger, no leaves you with questions, no "I wonder..." no no no... it's got a conclusion and there ain't no season 2 dangling out there. Fin. Finito. Dunzo. Also, man, I'll just say, you get invested in these characters! I don't know why this "Robbie Prendergrast" is literally a main character but oddly Tom Pelphrey doesn't get nearly the credit he absolutely deserves; he is excellent (way better than Mark Who?). There are some other familiar faces like Jamie McShane (who was the father in Wednesday) I really liked too (I mean, he's not a good person, but...) 4/5 stars.

Just watched the first episode of Task. It is worth watching and I will watch upcoming episodes. I'd binge it if I could. A number of character storylines introduced and now I'd like to know more. Acting, writing, cinematography are all A+.

Task isn’t just a series... it’s a masterclass in tension, storytelling, and character precision. Every episode feels like a tightened wire, humming with purpose. The writing is razor-sharp, the pacing ruthless, and the performances land with the force of truth. It’s the kind of show that doesn’t just entertain... it drags you in, grips your throat, and refuses to let go until the credits roll. Smart, bold, and uncompromising, Task stands tall as one of the most compelling series of its kind. Just do it! Don't wait.

Good crime drama with all the right twists and suspense in all the right places. Can't see a reason for a 2nd season though.

TASK features more than enough emotion and intensity to make for a ridiculously memorable and often thrilling ride. Mark Ruffalo is at his best, and Tom Pelphrey stands out as a conflicted and occasionally menacing character. These two stories collide in one of the more compelling and engaging shows of the year.

    Slow burner...

This theme had been done before but this storylines are top notch with its depth and emotion. And if Ruffalo is in it you know its good.

Tom Pelphrey is fantastic. I love how this show humanizes people. Every single one of them. And it hits home with very deep topics of mourning, loss, forgiveness, abuse, entrapment... Simply loved it

    pretty good

Really great series. Not sure that I need a season 2 UNLESS they do a Task/Mare of Easttown crossover. Then I’m 100% IN.

A deeply humane crime thriller bolstered by complex performances from both leads and the entire supporting cast. The role of the Christian faith in the characters was wonderfully nuanced while providing several disarming Gospel allegories throughout the season.

Slow burner series. Doesn't seem like much in the first few episodes then boom it is awesome.

What a fabulous show. It’s only six episodes, but in that short time you really get to know all the characters. You actually care what happens to them. It’s smart, well-written, well-acted, and absolutely worth watching.
