This is going to be a broad review because the absolute inarguable truth is that if you're reviewing one dropoutTV show, you are reviewing them all.. They're all simply drawn out versions of Improv games churned out in episodic format, like if an episode of Who's line was 8 hours long because each game was its own episode. I mean that literally by the way: because every show on Dropout has the same exact cast. "What if we took the money we made from collegehumor, and dropped all the humor?" This is what Sam Reich must've said when he created DropoutTV. Despite the fact that comedy, YES, is subjective, there still exists a framework for what "funny" actually is. That would be the foundation of the reason why you don't ever see a single one of the dropout cast doing anything outside of Reich's payroll - None of this is actually comedy. It's finger wagging. Subjectivity tends to come into play when the INTENT is to be funny. But every single DropoutTV show just seems to....simulate the motions of what humor appears to be, without any of the actual humor. Basically, its all woke slop. I mean, every show lists the performers pronouns. There has been not a single point in any history where that alone is not entirely insane, but the straight normal people list them too. There is, however, one standout talent amongst the current staff, and that explains why she's one of the higher-ups; that's Katie Marovitch. True, raw talent in her. Both in performance and in writing. She wrote and starred in Kingpin Katie, where an airhead accidentally becomes a drug lord. It was really funny, but to give you an idea on just how much this crew is incapable of venturing beyond Sam Reich, take a guess who produced it, financed it, and what streaming subscription it released on? It is a shame that she will absolutely never appreciate that Dropout is an anchor on a career that could be much more successful for her, but I assume she likes where she's at, so good for her. Anyway, here's the cut and paste description of this show, and frankly, every show: Group of improv employees sit around and present a concept to each other, and then comment on it, more often than not, noting how white men are bad for some reason. The only good eps of any particular DropoutTV show is when some notable seasoned comedian makes an appearance (which is precisely WHY they do. Nobody watches this slop). Like Paul F Thompkins or Jon Gabrus. Unforunately, Thats just 2 episodes. I should also give special mention to Vic Michaelis who is also very funny. She's got her own show on Dropout TV which is probably the most notable one, called Very Important People, where improv actors undergo makeup transformations and then are interviewed by Vic as that character, all while displaying pronouns on the screen. Vic is VERY good on that show when she's not trying to convince you that a woman as stunningly beautiful and feminine as her is something as profoundly conceptually stupid as a they/them non-binary. It just really takes you out of the humor, but frankly, I'm pretty sure the entire network has the exact intention. There is some good news. DropoutTV employee Grant O'Brian is only in one episode of this, and considering he is the foulest, grossest black hole of comedy alive today, you only have to hear about where he puts his genitalia one time. But DONT WORRY - He gives an extensive oral history about his STDs in literally every other Dropout show so you won't miss the walking self inserts biography. Why so harsh you ask? Great question - For the same reason Western Civilization was harsh on National Lampoons. Where there once was greatness, now stands an embaressment to even acknowledge. These are the people who gave us Jake and Amir, Hardly Working, THREE head writers of SNL, which includes the current one; hell, these are the people that introduced the whole world to the voice of Sonic the hedgehog, Ben Schwartz. Now? Mike Trapp justifies his existence by whining about his skin color while Reinka gives him approval, gladiator-style, and Grant finds a way to make everything thats happening about him. I know that sounds funny, but that all happens unironically.
