Might be one of the most entertaining tv shows ever. While the finale is bad and the quality decreases in the second half, the absolute excitement and thrill I experienced during season 2 and 4 are almost second to none. Amazing watch, probably a must see and a 5 star show to watch with friends.

Should’ve watched it sooner. Definitely in my Top 5 shows OAT. Really enjoyed it, even with its bumps in the road.

I really like this series because it's different, there's not just fights and drugs and mafia, but it's completely different and you don't realize how much I'm recommending to you.

Dexter is easily one of my favorite tv shows of all-time and one of the few shows I can watch all the way through several times over without getting bored. It's hard for me to put into words how much I love this show.

Dexter is a serial killer soap opera. Even at its worst, it's a fun time: even if that final season really tests this statement. The best of Dexter is among the best TV I've ever seen, but to get to the juicy center one has chew through a lot of cheap candy. The show generally thrives on mediocrity with flashes of brilliance, often getting sidetracked in messy relationship drama to cook up whatever unhinged serial killing oddity is coming next. Its a fun formula but one that I found myself growing tired of by the end. I have yet to see the new sequel series, but one thing that constantly irked me about watching OG Dexter was how our titular killer never leaves Miami for more than the occasional one-off episode. I felt that by the end of season 4, Miami had run its course, but we are there for another 4 seasons and it gets a little more stale with each. This doubles for the ensemble cast beyond him; if you find Masuka an annoying perv at the beginning, you better get used to him being that same unfunny weirdo for another 7 seasons! Dexter is great throughout, but despite being a generally sociopathic killer he manages to care a bit more about the workplace drama than I ever could muster. This wouldn't have been so bad if the show didnt have a tendency to kill off its best characters without a strong replacement to fill their shoes. Curse of a longrunning show I guess. Worth watching all the way through? Absolutely. Just prepare for an uneven ride.

Absolute cinema. The only bad thing was the finale

Dark, Twisted, and Addictively Unique "Dexter" stands out as one of the most intriguing crime dramas of its era, blending the procedural format with the unsettling perspective of a vigilante serial killer. Michael C. Hall's performance as Dexter Morgan is phenomenal-he manages to make a deeply flawed, morally complex character both terrifying and oddly sympathetic, which is no easy feat. The show shines in its exploration of morality, justice, and the fine line between hero and monster. Its mix of dark humor, tension, and psychological depth keeps it engaging across multiple seasons. The writing is clever, often subversive, and it leans heavily on strong supporting characters that bring balance and nuance to Dexter's world. That said, the quality does fluctuate-some seasons are brilliant, others uneven, and the finale remains divisive. Still, at its best, "Dexter" is gripping television: bold, stylish, and endlessly compelling for anyone who enjoys morally gray storytelling.

Dexter is a great show, especially up until Trinity's death. After that, the series starts to lose its edge and gets a bit strange. Still, it's a solid show overall.

The one and only scene worth your time comes in the title sequence, when the lead breaks the fourth wall with a look that all but says, “Really? You’re watching this?”—as if mildly appalled that you’d waste precious minutes on a show that polishes up the image of a profoundly unhinged mind, while clinging to a moral compass that’s clearly been dropped, kicked about, and left in a gutter. That this parade of self-importance has been allowed to limp through multiple seasons is both laughable and faintly tragic; in terms of storytelling, it wouldn’t outpace a bargain-bin Brazilian soap if it were sprinting.
