This anthology series can be viewed independently but is best when paired with sister series, "Cucumber". Whereas the companion show satirizes gay life, "Banana" takes some of the fringe characters and puts them center stage in half hour dramas. As you would expect from Russell T Davies, the "Banana" episides are well-wrritten entertainment, focusing on LGBTQ characters and the issues that affect their lives. And, as with "Cucumber", their "ap-PEEL" isn't limited to queer audiences. 😜
