Born Benjamin Bernstein, Ben Blue immigrated to the United States where he became a dance instructor, dance school owner, and a successful nightclub owner. Beginning his movie career in 1926, some of his notable appearances were in The Big Broadcast of 1938 (1938), For Me and My Gal (1942), One Sunday Afternoon (1948) and It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963) in which he had a cameo as a biplane pilot. Along with frequent appearances on Ed Sullivan's "Toast of the Town" and The Hollywood Palace, he was also recurring character Ben McGrath on Accidental family
