Created at a time the general masses had no clue what or how computers really worked. So all the computer jargon was lost on most I’d assume. Ahead of its time in so many ways with a story thats pretty rudimentary and simple all while exploring themes of religion (kinda) and oppression of a tyrannical ruling class. It’s a trip thats for sure even if dated, and it still looks entirely unique and one of a kind even to this day. I got more out of this watch than I ever have before despite seeing this a good 4 or 5 times.

Well ahead of its time, I wasn't old enough to watch it upon its original release which is probably for the best as I'm sure it would of blew my mind back then. The premise of the movie is very prevelant. If you are wanting a perfect CGI movie this probably isn't for you, if you can look past that then it is well worth while experiencing a classic

Good reminder that I am the god of my computer and not some fuckass AI program. I'm not excited to see bit in Tron: Ares that guy is so annoying. I'm so fucking scared for Friday (was gonna go Thursday but someone gave me concert tickets so I have an unused pair of tickets you're welcome Tron: Ares box office)

Classic, obviously dated but still watchable. Kinda cool to see the old effects. I hope it gets more sequels after Tron Ares

    ## Synopsis A programmer who was recently let go from his company sneaks back into his company to try to find proof he was forced out. During the heist he is digitized and forced into the computer where he fights the program that is going rogue. ## Review I somehow have never watched this movie. And speaking that it came out in 1982, I understand why it never made it to TV. The CGI hasn't aged well at all. It made me laugh so hard with how bad it looked. I vaguely remember a TV show that I used to watch, [ReBoot], but not quite as bad, but close. I bet for the 80s it looked good, it is just hard to see past it right now. The story is pretty good. [[Tron Legacy]] make a lot more sense now for sure. I am not opposed to it the science completely, and I think the team does a pretty good job. It is a little hokey, I mean of course it is. Look at every 80s action movie such as [[First Blood]]. They just dive in and just act over the top. However, that over the top just adds to the enjoyment. There isn't a lot to be mad at. The gladiator games in here do give a pre-cursor to [[Squid Game]] in a way with the death of the programs if they don't win. There is one game where they are throwing their Frisbee, I'm sorry I think it is called a life disk or something. But if it hits the ground then that ring is gone, and you have to jump over it to move around the board. ## [My Rating] After the shock of the CGI, I did enjoy the movie. The acting wasn't the worse I've seen, and I was entertained. I appreciate the games that were created and how they were displayed. It is cool story. I am giving this a 7. ## [Parental Rating] It being the 80s, this movie doesn't have a lot of language. So kuddos to that. There isn't a lot of real violence and obviously no sex. I think I can also say approved by both. Easy peazy.

"After all, computers are just machines. They can't think" "Some programs'll be thinking soon" <chuckles> "Haha, won't that be grand? Computers and the programs will start thinking and the people stop?" When a movie from 1982 predicts how we live in 2025. End of line

Ah, TRON, it was groundbreaking.. The first CGI ,although a lot of the effects were not really cgi but done in an Asian sweatshop by hand colouring in each frame of celluloid . Part of movie history, must watch!

Tron was a total shock to the system—visually groundbreaking, unapologetically digital, and so far ahead of its time that even a simple “GREETINGS PROGRAM!” felt like stepping into the future.
