I just finished Traffic, and man, this movie is incredible. First of all, the cast is absolutely stacked. Michael Douglas, Benicio del Toro, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Don Cheadle, Luis Guzmán, Dennis Quaid — it just keeps going. And somehow, with this many characters and this many different storylines, everybody still feels incredibly fleshed out. Steven Soderbergh’s direction is fantastic, and Stephen Gaghan’s screenplay does such a great job weaving all of these different perspectives together without ever making the movie feel scattered. From the beginning all the way through the end, it feels important. It feels heavy. It feels like every storyline is building toward something. Benicio del Toro especially is just phenomenal. The only character that felt a little off to me was Topher Grace. I actually think he does a good job with what he’s given, but there was something about that character that felt more scripted than natural. Every time he showed up, I was a little more aware that I was watching somebody deliver dialogue. But honestly, that is such a minor complaint in a movie that I thought was incredible almost everywhere else. Traffic is powerful, complicated, beautifully directed, and just incredibly impactful. I’m giving it a 4.5 out of 5. Fantastic movie.

I couldn't watch this to the end as the Spanish-speaking subtitles are missing.

Multilayer view on drug trafficking. Felt realistic. Wasn't a fan of the colorization or shaky camera.

A big-budget production about drug trafficking in the USA, shown from different sectors of society. A good film in which Benicio’s performance really stands out
