A vast over-correction to Thor 2. Chock full of obnoxious secondary characters and tonally inconsistent with its subject matter. Hemsworth does excel and without him this whole thing would be an unmitigated disastrous. I will admit that I find Marvel's deviations from the source mythology irksome, and that never helps my opinion of Thor movies outside of Thor/Loki/Odin/Valkerie

    Thor has lost so much...

This was exactly the kind of reset Thor needed. Chris Hemsworth looks like he's having the time of his life, and that energy carries the whole movie from start to finish. The chemistry between Thor, Hulk, Loki, and Valkyrie is great, and Jeff Goldblum steals every scene he's in. The action is awesome, the soundtrack fits perfectly, and the colorful style gives it its own identity. It leans a little too hard on the jokes now and then, especially in scenes that probably would've hit harder if they had been played a bit straighter. Even so, it's just ridiculously fun the whole way through. It's one of those MCU movies that's easy to rew

This is by far my favorite movie of the Thor series. As always, the charming but goofy portrayl by Hemsworth works well here. best if all, there is a lot different things happening here which makes every minute of this movie engaging. It starts out typically enough with Thor fighting a demon with whom he also makes quips which really pisses that demon off, and this sets the roght tone for the rest of the movie which is a departure from what anyone miggt have expect if you are like me and never read the comics. Finally, they do something with the Hulk that was explicitly specified by Mike from Red Letter Media! This is at least the second time this has happened so I'm not thinking it's a coincidence. While I would love to dump a lot of spoilers here I want to make this be a call to action to those who havebt watched this to select "play" immediately. You wont be disappointed, I promise!

Bright, Bold, and Fun "Thor: Ragnarok" heavily reshapes the tone of the Thor series, turning it into a vibrant, energetic, and highly entertaining cosmic adventure. The film embraces a much lighter and more comedic style, and for the most part, the shift works very well. Visually, it's one of the most colorful and distinctive movies in the MCU. The cosmic settings, bold design choices, and dynamic action sequences give the film a strong personality. The energy rarely drops, and the pacing keeps the story moving at an engaging rhythm. The cast seems to enjoy the new direction. The performances bring a playful chemistry that fits perfectly with the movie's tone, and the interactions between the characters are often the highlight of the film. The humor lands frequently, helping the movie maintain a fun and entertaining atmosphere throughout. At times, the heavy comedic tone slightly undercuts moments that could have carried more dramatic weight. Still, the movie succeeds in revitalizing the character and making the story feel fresh and exciting. "Thor: Ragnarok" is bold, colorful, and consistently entertaining, a reinvention that pays off.

Silly, funny, great rapport between the main characters. Big baddie is too powerful and not really developed. Dumb fun.

One of my favorite installments from the current MCU. Fun, colorful and well spliced between two different worlds. Korg needs a spin-off.

A fun movie and one of Marvel's best entries into the franchise. Keeps a nice balance between humor and action. I prefer the classic Thor stories from the comics where he is a much more serious character, but this movie is by no means offensive to his legacy. Jeff Goldblum is always a pleasure to watch, and the cast all give good performances.
