- Rick7 de junio de 2025Not my favorite Chan-wook film I’ve seen, but still well worth watching. Every character is expertly written, and absolutely fucked up and depraved in one way or another - as expected. I felt like this could have been trimmed about 30 minutes and made a much tighter film. The final half hour or so was absolute perfection though. I almost started feeling bad for the mom by the end. Her situation is my worst nightmare.

Sang-hyun, un caritativo sacerdote que suele visitar a los pacientes del pequeño hospital de su ciudad, vive atormentado por las dudas y la desesperación que le provoca un mundo dominado por el sufrimiento y la muerte. Allí contrae una enfermedad mortal de la que se recupera casi milagrosamente. La gente, convencida de sus poderes de curación, empieza a ir en peregrinación a su casa. Sin embargo, una noche, Sang-hyun sufre una recaída y muere. A la mañana siguiente, se ha convertido en vampiro: se siente animado por una nueva vitalidad, pero siente un gran rechazo por sí mismo, al verse transformado en una criatura sanguinaria.
