The Mortuary Assistant Ratings & Reviews
- Daniel Wandrohace 3 dEntertaining horror movie. The interesting story kept me guessing a little. Genuinely creepy and realistic gore. I would watch it again.
- Stephen Raccomandato25 de abril de 2026Fell asleep about 20min in 🥱
- reyni7321 de abril de 2026Worst horror ive ever seen.
- ST4RZ19 de abril de 2026Brilliant game. Comically bad movie. Without the set design, it’s a 0-star horror comedy by mistake.
- Josh C27 de marzo de 2026Very disappointing! I saw the trailer a few days back and thought it looked so good and planned my Friday evening to watch this and quickly realized that the trailer was the only highlight here. I gave it a full star only because the production and special effects were both pretty decent. It's lacking......story! There are no meat and potatoes here to sink your teeth into in terms of story. You start out not knowing what you're getting yourself into and leave with the exact same feeling. It all seemed very chaotic and frantic which I don't mind if there is a clear story!
- k798906 de abril de 2026What a fucking letdown. It’s dull as hell, and, I would say the story goes nowhere, but thats saying the story started somewhere at all, for it to even go nowhere.
- Dan The Man Kearney1 de abril de 20262/10 - The Mid Assistant Pretty boring, not anywhere near the games level of greatness
- jackmeat31 de marzo de 2026My quick rating - 4.5/10. If you ever wanted to spend 91 minutes trapped inside a humid little mortuary where the lighting is 90% “flickering fluorescent hellscape” and the other 10% “someone forgot to pay the bill,” then The Mortuary Assistant is happy to embalm that dream for you. I played the game back in the day. Well, tried to finish it before a bug halted my progress into the abyss, and walking into the movie felt like stepping right back into River Fields Mortuary. The office? Perfect. The embalming room? Spot on. Those narrow hallways that make you feel like something is breathing on your neck even when you're alone? Chef’s kiss. Set decorator Grace Taylor Haun deserves a raise, or maybe just a stern “never do this to us again,” because it works a little too well. Rebecca Owens, played by Willa Holland, shows up for her first night shift like she's taking on a normal job instead of starring in The Mortuary Assistant, where demons treat OSHA guidelines like suggestions. She’s greeted by Raymond Delver, portrayed with intentional dryness by Paul Sparks. Seriously, the man delivers lines like he's legally required to use only half his vocal range. Early on, Rebecca heads to the basement for supplies, only to get told, “There is NO reason to be down there.” All I heard was "There are seventeen reasons not to go down there, and all of them will kill you." And since I already spotted something lurking at the bottom of the stairs, you know we’ll be punching that ticket eventually. Atmosphere is the MVP here, and The Mortuary Assistant heavily relies on what made the game unsettling. Bodies look just wrong enough to make you question whether they’re dead, alive, or simply on break. The demons look great, too. Practical makeup, eerie silhouettes, and none of that “AI-generated CGI ghoul #47” nonsense we’ve been force-fed lately. While the film does a good job building tension…until the constant use of flashbacks kicks the door in and releases it like a demon from a Tupperware container, never to be seen again, chopping the pacing to bits and occasionally making it hard to follow. Holland does a solid job carrying the film with believable reactions. Equal parts “professional mortuary worker” and “why did I agree to this shift again?” Sparks, while dry, hits the secretive weirdo boss energy perfectly. The cinematography and lighting keep things atmospheric, eerie, and appropriately suffocating. But despite strong pieces scattered throughout, The Mortuary Assistant never fully assembles them into something unforgettable. As a game adaptation, it’s faithful enough to avoid embarrassment. As a standalone horror movie? It’s average, entertaining enough for one night, and likely to fade from memory faster than the sun rises after Rebecca’s shift.
- cultfilmliker31 de marzo de 2026Ugh a rough night for horrors flicks huh lol Becomes so tedious and annoying trying to fill out the runtime. The dad stuff was especially grating. I was rooting for the bloodletting by the end I mean….slightly creepy? (edit after ending: lol ok maybe not) Currently Ranked #34/39 in 2026 Ranked
- ajankuv30 de marzo de 2026Horrible acting and movie
- Enes Şahin30 de marzo de 2026It's full of very nauseating, disgusting scenes. I don't mean that in a bad way; I already anticipated something like this when I started the movie, but I didn't know it would be so close-up and detailed. I probably won't eat for a week 😂 Anyway, I think the suspense is better than the horror. Since most scenes are dialogue-based, it inevitably gets boring. Other than that, I think it's watchable. If you like horror and suspense, give it a chance. Enjoy the movie.
- Florin D.30 de marzo de 2026The trailer good...the movie bad
- ricomckee29 de marzo de 2026A great premise and good cast. However, the storyline was too confusing and the editing a mess to make a real impact.
- DECEPTIGEEK27 de marzo de 2026The base of the story has merit, the execution in the film is lacking. Some effects look fantastic while other look less than professional. The way the story is told is jarring, but I feel that is intentional. I see a remake in the future.
- nate197927 de marzo de 2026Not so good worth a watch tho.
