Jang Hyuk plays Ui-kang, a retired hitman reluctantly tasked with babysitting a teenage girl while his wife’s off on vacation. Naturally, things go sideways and he goes full one man army. The setup is simple, but the execution? Sharp. The fight scenes are brutal, clean and stylish without being over edited. Hyuk moves like a dancer with a grudge and the camera knows exactly when to linger and when to cut. The villains are disposable, the plot is thin, but the pacing never lets up. Streaming it felt like discovering a hidden gem, the kind of movie that makes you say, “Wait, why didn’t this get a sequel?” It had the bones for a franchise: a charismatic lead, a clean visual style and just enough mystery to build on. But it came and went, buried under bigger releases and poor international marketing. The Killer is lean, mean, and quietly excellent. I streamed it, I logged it and I still think it deserved more.
