Tetris Ratings & Reviews
- Caner Ozdemirhace 2 dGreat movie, interesting visuals with a very complementing soundtrack. Good story telling and well portrayed by actors.
- Varun19 de octubre de 2024Wow totally wasn’t expecting the history behind this game to be so interesting. The painstaking efforts needed to navigate through bureaucracy caused me some genuine stress lol. Although this kind of story has been done in many past movies, I had a ton of fun with this one. It was well crafted and kept me engaged from beginning to end!
- AngusMcNutz26 de enero de 2026Starts off real strong but loses steam insanely quick and, by the 3rd act, it comes across like no one knew how to wrap this script up. My best guess is that the writers wanted a semi-gritty political thriller and the producers and license holders wanted an America=good/Soviet=bad jerk off party. Doesn't really succeed in either respect but does have some charming moments if you can stomach the rest of it.
- M08Y28 de diciembre de 2025Historical inaccuracies and simplifications aside, Tetris is an excellent film to fill 2 hours of your life. To get it out of the way... Tetris is not historically accurate. Trying to make a film true to real events would have been a disaster due to the complexity of the situation. HOWEVER. As a film, Tetris does a lot of stuff right. The cast is great, the characters all have *just* enough life in them to be interesting, the pacing keeps everything flowing smoothly and the subject is interesting enough to keep your brain engaged. Taron Egerton does some serious heavy lifting here, Really bringing Henk Rogers to life as the struggling game publisher who'd discovered something huge. His interactions with the Russians and Media Billionaires are spot on. An honourable mention goes to Igor Grabuzov for his portrayal of a slimy and corrupt Russian Minister. One thing I am forced to say is that I HATE the pixelated transition shots in this film. I understand it's subjective but I hate it SO much.
- Michael Surber10 de abril de 2025Simply brilliant. Is there any role Taron Egerton can't play? Even if you've never played Tetris on a Gameboy, likely you have seen it done. This true story adaptation is nearly perfect. Just watch it.
- Dave19 de octubre de 2025I was hesitant to watch this but am really glad I did. Tetris though an unusual subject for a thriller it delivers a really suspensful 1 hr and 57 min movie. Its a perfect lazy start to the day movie that wakes up as you do. I say get out of your own way, settle in one morning and give it a go. Its full of moments that keep you stressed out and anxious to see what comes next. Watching Henk bet everything hes got and poor himself into this game only to have it repeatedly torn from under him only to continue the intense and high stakes negotiations makes for great entertainment value.
- Alexei Iexela13 de octubre de 2025Really good story and pace! Seen it for the Third time now.. And its still one more time worthy 🥳
- GoranNajdanovic21 de septiembre de 2025Great movie
- Jamie Talbot28 de agosto de 2025I absolutely loved this movie! It felt like such a great way to experience the whole Tetris story. A story which I didn’t have any clue about until watching the film. It’s a very exciting film with some incredible filmography. Set in the Soviet Union, there was a big focus on their rules at the time and Henk running around trying to secure the rights to Tetris. Definitely worth a watch for anyone since everyone knows what Tetris is. I was so invested in the film throughout.
- Jameslikesmovies24 de julio de 2025Really good loved the story got boring at some parts
- skkilla17 de julio de 2025who new the story behind Tetris was this insane
- Daniel Sauvé14 de julio de 2025It's Hollywoodized in some spots, but it's still a gripping tale of innovation, greed, Iron Curtain politics, light spy shenanigans - and blocks. Lots and lots of blocks.
- Kevin Ward3 de julio de 2025Probably the second best mid 80’s scrappy underdog story featuring multiple competitors vying for an exclusive contract with a future worldwide sensation that I’ve seen in the last two days. Tetris while entertaining enough suffers from massive embellishments of the truth. In Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) pursuit of a deal for the game he apparently encounters Russian double agents, has death threats levied at his wife and children at home and gets pursued in a high speed car chase through the streets and alleys of Moscow with Nintendo executives along side him. Rather than make the film more exciting, these exaggerations merely draw attention to the fact that there’s really not enough of a story here. Or at least the writer’s didn’t feel like there was. Backroom deals, contract negotiations and double crosses, etc can be made tense and exciting without car chases and double agents. With properties like the Air Jordan, Tetris, Facebook, the audience already knows the massive value that’s at stake. Add in some truly unlikeable villains in the Maxwell Communications Corporation (Robert Maxwell is Ghislaine Maxwell’s father 😬) and I really didn’t think the embellishments were warranted and actually did more to undercut the real drama that unfolded. Looks, it’s not a bad watch. I’m sure my opinion is being negatively affected by the fact that I watched Air yesterday, which I much preferred. But even still, I likely won’t ever think about this movie again.
- Dino Kaltbrunner9 de junio de 2025Entertaining
- Lord_Tulkas2 de junio de 2025I don't know what I was expecting from this movie, but certainly not this! What a shock! One may think you're about to watch some boring documentary style movie about a videogame and BAM! They come up with espionage, spies, car chases, government corruption! What a rush! Definitely a very recommended movie, especially for gamers who want to know a little about history...
