Starship Troopers: Las brigadas del espacio Ratings & Reviews
- Cameron Kempster18 de abril de 2025Everyone fights. No one quits
- Daniel Gustavsson12 de octubre de 2024It's definitely not perfect, and perhaps a bit overrated, bit it's a very charming movie. It has that certain 90s feel.
- Евгенийhace 6 dI love this film very much. Cool anti-utopian motives mixed with cosmic action.
- levi420112 de abril de 2026Very heartfelt. Great history movie
- Manueeell23 de marzo de 2026The only good bug is a dead bug. Very convincing propaganda, I'll join tomorrow to become a citizen 👍🏻
- Mojojoejoe6716 de abril de 2025Brilliant….. in a cheesy kind of way. It’s meant to be fun and not taken seriously, very enjoyable.
- Walter Jospeh Kovacs5 de febrero de 2026I really enjoyed this film back in the day (the sequels are so bad, I removed them from my collection). A lot of people talk about the parallels with the Roman Republic etc. but for me, I just liked seeing people fight bugs. I gave it a re-watch and noticed that it was averaging only 3 out of 5 but yep, this film is awesome. Get to see Denise Richards' baps as well,
- ptopnz18 de febrero de 2025Maybe generous with the stars but it's got a nostalgic hold on me. Blood guts and boobies.
- Mert Özkan5 de abril de 2025Best one among the other starship troopers movies.
- Scott and Sharon4 de febrero de 2026Still a good film. Showing the decks of a split in half battleship is so much fun.
- mickerdoo12 de noviembre de 2025Has everything. Monsters, war, heavily titled cutaways, high school drama, space, neon violin serenades and a nonchalant coed group shower scene.
- Scott beard24 de enero de 2026Starship Troopers (1997) is the most deliciously misunderstood masterpiece Paul Verhoeven ever lobbed at us, like if a fascist propaganda reel fucked a bug squashing video game and the baby came out grinning with perfect white teeth and a death wish. On the surface? High school sweethearts Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien, all square jawed Aryan dreamboat energy), Carmen (Denise Richards, hotter than a plasma burn), and Dizzy (Dina Meyer, the real heartbreaker) enlist to fight giant arachnids after Buenos Aires gets turned into a crater. Cue endless boot camp, coed showers that somehow make nudity feel militaristic, and battle sequences where soldiers get mulched into red mist by bugs the size of houses. The action is relentless, the CGI (for 97) still holds up like a champ, and the gore? Chef’s kiss levels of splatter, limbs flying, brains leaking, bugs vomiting acid like they’re at a bad buffet. But peel back that shiny recruiting poster sheen and Verhoeven’s serving pure venom: this is satire so sharp it draws blood. The Federation is a militarized utopia where only citizens (i.e., veterans) get to vote, citizenship is earned through service, and the newsreels are straight up fascist cheerleading, “Would you like to know more?” The cast plays it dead straight, all gleaming smiles and patriotic fervor, making the fascism feel eerily seductive. It’s not mocking the bugs; it’s mocking us, the audience cheering for endless war, propaganda, and “service guarantees citizenship” bumper stickers. Verhoeven doesn’t wink once, he lets the absurdity speak for itself. The bugs are just an excuse for humanity’s bloodlust; the real monsters wear crisp uniforms and spout slogans about duty. It’s prescient as hell, pre Iraq War jingoism, post 9/11 forever wars, the way media turns slaughter into entertainment. And yet it never lectures; it just lets you laugh at the carnage while slowly realizing you’re laughing at the wrong thing. The performances are pitch perfect: Van Dien’s earnest himbo, Michael Ironside’s grizzled “the only good bug is a dead bug” lieutenant, and that shower scene that’s equal parts horny teen fantasy and creepy state surveillance. Neil Patrick Harris as the psychic Nazi officer? Iconic. The whole thing drips with dark irony, wrapped in blockbuster bombast. They don’t make movies this ballsy anymore, too risky to alienate the flag wavers while still giving them the explosions they crave. Starship Troopers is a Trojan horse: give ‘em the popcorn action, smuggle in the critique of authoritarianism, militarism, and blind patriotism. It’s hilarious, horrifying, horny, and horrifyingly smart. Ten out of ten Klendathu drops. Still the greatest “dumb action movie” that’s secretly genius. Do your part, rewatch it, laugh, then stare at the wall wondering if we’re all just Rico charging another bug hole. 🪳🔫🇺🇸
- Salman Naseer21 de septiembre de 2025I watched this movie as a kid and I loved it at that time. Watching it again after all this time, I think the movie is still great and the VFX and overall movie still holds up great. But being a Sci-Fi movie the obvious flaws are more prominent now. I'm going to watch the sequels as well and see if it gets better. Watching it in 2024, I think it was surely ahead of it's time and still very enjoyable.
- Marcelo Scatena5 de diciembre de 2025I hope more people understand this movie.
- Manfrys200011 de noviembre de 2025My favorite movie all time.
