- Vincent Reggiannini23 de enero de 2026If anything this is a movie that highlights James McAvoy’s ability to mesmerize an audience. In true M. Knight fashion the movie casts a spell on you, drawing you into a tension filled fantasy world where pseudo-science rules and subtle camera movements keep you glued to the screen. M. Knight’s spectacular attention to detail immerses you in an implausible plot, but if you allow yourself to believe the unbelievable you are in for an enjoyable ride. A creepy background score lends to the uncomfortable tension that lingers throughout the movie. McAvoy plays a man who has built a wall to protect himself from life, a life that has not treated him very well. That wall is composed of up to a dozen distinctly different personalities, each of which represents a strong figure that can shield, block or protect himself from an all-too-indifferent and merciless world. The plot involves some real leaps of faith in common sense, but if you cut it some slack you’ll enjoy the tension and you’ll feel a sense of childlike wonder in this fantasy-world. This is a world where the weak and the exploited are the survivors. There are several developments and also an unexpected plot twist in the end. This is what we expect from M. Knight, and in this movie it works. The twist comes out of the blue, but like a slow rolling lightning bolt.
- Danny Potter-Jones24 de agosto de 2025This is the sequel to Unbreakable, Split is by far the best out of the trilogy and James McAvoy does an amazing job he was outstanding he should have an award for this performance. Kevin Wendell Crumb, is a character with Dissociative Identity Disorder whose personalities manifest extraordinary abilities. I highly recommend this film if you haven't seen it. The order: Unbreakable (2000) Split (2016) Glass (2019)
- tellum21 de agosto de 2025Not the most flattering or accurate presentation of Dissociative Identity Disorder but I don’t think there ever has been in film. Regardless of that, real good horror/thriller.
- Zokkiie17 de enero de 2026Really tense and fun to watch. James McAvoy is easily the best part — he’s creepy in a way that keeps you glued to the screen. The story gets a little wild here and there, but it’s still entertaining and never boring. Solid thriller, definitely worth checking out
- James Saenz16 de marzo de 2025still a banger, james mcavoy goes sicko mode. this film also started my anya taylor-joy obsession. i talk more about it on my letterboxd review. link in my profile because plex are fascists who won’t let me link it in this review
- John Moss23 de diciembre de 2025James McAvoy is creepy as hell, in a good way!
- EvilAxolotl16 de noviembre de 2025Shamalan on top form with an absolutely incredible performance from James McAvoy
- Gianni Cavuoto22 de octubre de 2025M. Night Shyamalan's Split marks a strong return to form for the director, combining psychological tension, unnerving atmosphere, and a standout central performance into a tightly paced thriller. The film centers around a chilling premise — a man with dissociative identity disorder who harbors multiple personalities — and explores the boundaries of the human mind with gripping intensity.
- waggerdagger15 de octubre de 2025Great movie. Together with "Unbreakable", it's probably the best superhero movie ever made. It's grounded, down to earth and tense. McAvoy does a superb performance. Too bad that "Glass" (next in the trilogi) was ridiculous.
- Plex TV16 de agosto de 2025A stunning performance by James McAvoy. This is such a great movie.
- Davidosdr6 de julio de 2025Terrible
- Ichigo Kurusaki1 de mayo de 2025Great acting by kevin but (23pErsONAlities) is a gimmick who cares? Didnt like this movie but i watched it so the third would make sense, i dont think anyone knew this was a trilogy the first and 3rd were great
- Hakihiko22 de febrero de 2025A Tense and Gripping Psychological Thriller "Split" is an intense and unsettling psychological thriller that keeps the audience on edge from start to finish. M. Night Shyamalan masterfully builds tension through a gripping atmosphere, unsettling cinematography, and a haunting score that enhances the film's psychological depth. One of the film's strongest aspects is James McAvoy's incredible performance, as he seamlessly transitions between different personalities with impressive range and precision. His portrayal adds layers of complexity and unpredictability to the story, making every scene compelling. Anya Taylor-Joy also delivers a strong and emotionally nuanced performance, adding depth to the film's psychological undertones. The suspense is well-crafted, with a slow-burning tension that gradually escalates, keeping viewers fully engaged. While the film leans into psychological horror, it also explores deeper themes, making it more than just a standard thriller. Some moments might feel a bit exaggerated, especially in the final act, but the overall execution remains gripping. With its chilling atmosphere, strong performances, and psychological depth, "Split" stands out as one of Shyamalan's best works. It's an intense and thought-provoking experience that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll.
