I just watched Spider-Man 3, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie gets more hate than it deserves. I know some people say it is too messy or that there is too much going on, but honestly, that is part of what I like about it. It is big, bold, dramatic, and swings for the fences in every direction. And even with all the chaos, it still finds time to deliver emotional moments and character growth that hit hard. Tobey Maguire returns once again as Peter Parker, and this time around he is dealing with more pressure than ever. He is trying to balance life as Spider-Man while staying close with Mary Jane, keeping his job, dealing with his best friend Harry, and handling all the personal guilt that comes with everything he has been through. It is a lot, and the movie does not shy away from showing how that weight starts to crack his world. The big addition here is the black suit. When Peter bonds with the alien symbiote, everything changes. His powers increase, but so does his anger, his ego, and his ability to hurt the people he cares about. Watching him struggle with that darker side of himself is one of the most interesting parts of the whole trilogy. You see a side of Peter that is cocky and aggressive, and while some of those scenes have become memes, they still work in context. It is Spider-Man at his lowest, and it is important to see a hero fall sometimes. The villains are a big part of the story. You have Sandman, played by Thomas Haden Church, who is not just a bad guy but someone with a heartbreaking backstory. His scenes are emotional, and the visual effects for his sand transformation are still impressive. Then you have the continuation of Harry Osborn’s arc as he steps into his father’s shadow and becomes the New Goblin. That storyline brings a lot of personal conflict, especially with the history between him and Peter. And yes, Venom is in the movie too. Eddie Brock, played by Topher Grace, becomes the host of the same symbiote that once bonded with Peter. It is not the most comic accurate version, but it works well enough in this story. The final act brings all the threads together in a huge showdown, and while it is crowded, it still lands with emotion and impact. Everyone has something at stake, and the payoff feels earned. The action scenes are huge and stylish. The fight between Peter and Harry in the mansion is intense. The battle with Sandman in the subway is gritty and creative. And the final fight at the construction site is massive and full of twists. But even with all the action, the heart of the movie stays with the characters. The themes of forgiveness, redemption, and responsibility are all there, just like the first two films. I give Spider-Man 3 5 out of 5 stars because it brings the trilogy to an epic, emotional, and bold conclusion. It is not perfect, but it is full of ambition, heart, and memorable moments that still hold up all these years later. Overall Spider-Man 3 is a messy but meaningful ride that digs into what it really means to be a hero. It brings drama, action, and emotion together for a final chapter that I truly love. I will always defend this one.

Over the top with entirely too much going on. But it's just so iconic. Easy to laugh at which makes it enjoyable. So many memes.
