Haven’t cared for any of the various other adaptations (Mirror Mirror, Snow White and The Huntsman, etc), so this probably didn’t much of a chance with me outside of extremely low expectations. I really liked Zegler, obviously her incredible singing voice goes a long way and I actually liked the vibrant visuals in many of the scenes. But that’s about where the positives end. It continues to be a story that just doesn’t resonate with me. And oof…Gal Gadot. Pretty dreadful performance. Though, I will say, I thought she had a pretty good singing voice. These live-action remakes will undoubtedly continue to churn.

The plot’s a mess, zigzagging between preachy monologues and pointless musical numbers that sound like they were written by a tone-deaf AI. Visually, it’s a garish overload—think cheap Instagram filters slapped on a $200 million budget. Even the evil queen couldn’t save this disaster, and she’s usually the best part! Save your money and rewatch the 1937 classic instead—this one’s only good for inducing naps.
