Positives: - The story is very simple about a low level boxer reaching for the stars, but a very affective story - The acting is incredible - Sylvester Stallone gives an all time performance here - The main character of Rocky is a great character who is very relatable - The score is very iconic and amazing - The message I love - The boxing matches are very entertaining, but also intense Mixed: - I found the romance to just be a waste of time but this did not affect the movie at all - The movie is also more of a drama than an actual sports film Overall Rocky is an iconic sports film that everyone should see.

- CravanThePugilist13 de abril de 2026I totally didn't expect to like this, even after watching Creed, which is what made me give this a chance... holy shit. One of my favourite movies of all time. The sequels definitely get more & more 'meh' & corny as they go on (until the next-gen revival, 30 years later!) but this holds up infinitely. I still think of the ending all the time. Super emotional, super well-written. Also it gave us the South Park spoof with Randy training to beat THE BAD DAD. Which might be my favourite moment in SP history.

I can see this film working back in the 70's, but I'm coming from the age of people who have seen films like 'The Smashing Machine and Million Dollar Baby', and for that audience, this might not be impactful or may look like a formula-based film at least structurally. However, I realise the commercialisation of this film in several Parts, building its own universe and fan base, inspiring a generation of people and filmmakers combined. This is a blockbuster, no doubt. Is this artistically creative? I don't know.

Stallone is perfect and the star of the movie is Phillidelpha PA. It is the under cover love story you didn't know you were watching... I won't get into detail. There's no reason why you haven't seen this movie yet ... In fact there's no reason why you're not watching this movie right now!

- Jakeys26 de diciembre de 2025Excellent movie. You can't help but cheer for Rocky, though I'm not sure he's meant to block punches with his face. There is one rough and outdated courting scene between Rocky and Adrian though that I would hope Sly would write differently today.
