Where to Watch Rock Star

But this is a movie I come back to every once in a while and enjoy it like it's the first time. The awesome 80s music, the cheesiness of it all, everything. And that's something only a movie deserving of five stars in my book could ever achieve.
- LivewireAdmin3 de febrero de 2026I get the sense that if a movie like Rock Star came out today, certain online film circles would be hailing it as boldly original. It carries the familiar rise-and-fall energy of a music biopic, but sidesteps real history in favor of pure fiction, which gives it a surprisingly refreshing edge. Drop a modern star like Austin Butler into this kind of role, release it today and it would absolutely find its audience. I chuckled when they played "Good Vibrations" during the credits.
- Michael Surber16 de noviembre de 2025Ok, I'll be the first to admit this isn't EXACTLY how it was back in the 80s metal scene, but it's darn close! This epic film started out as a Judas Priest biopic but they soon distanced themselves from it. Too bad because this is a great movie if you lived thru this musical decade. Definitely had its haters but I freaking love this movie. Fantastic band to support Mark on stage including Zakk Wilde. Gimme blood!!

Chris Cole (Mark Wahlberg) es un fanático obsesivo del grupo heavy Steel Dragon. Los admira tanto que con varios amigos ha formado un "grupo tributo", es decir, un grupo de rock especializado en reproducir fielmente las canciones de Steel Dragon. Luego de algunas discusiones internas, Chris es expulsado del grupo que él mismo fundó. Entonces, llega la llamada mágica. Parece que el vocalista real de Steel Dragon va a abandonar la banda y el resto de los integrantes buscan un reemplazo. Por azar vieron en vídeo una presentación del grupo tributo en el que cantaba Chris y quedaron impresionados por su talento, por lo que lo invitan a hacer una audición. Chris y Emily -su novia/manager (Jennifer Aniston)- viajan a Los Angeles y finalmente Chris es seleccionado como reemplazo.
