Escuela nocturna Ratings & Reviews
- flowersfamily15 de febrero de 2026Even though I love slashers and giallo, this giallo-inspired slasher doesn't make the grade. The film doesn't have anything to do with the real concept of "night school," where students take classes at night since they are unavailable during the day (such as due to a job). Instead it deals with a girls school that apparently only has 1 professor worth the cops' time even though the victims are mostly students of the school. A real night school would've been interesting especially during the time this film was made. Imagine the scenes of being terrified to walk home from night school class because a killer is on the loose -- it would've practically written itself. The writers could've still used some of the same scenarios and kills, but it would've fit the title better. The cops in this movie are unintentionally inept. The lead detective shows up and asks maybe two questions and then takes off. His sidekick is a poor attempt at comedic relief since his jokes don't really land. It is this dollar store procedural storyline that really drags this film down. It prevents rising tension. A fan edit that dramatically reduces this part of the film might help. I mean truly what is the point of that first scene between the detective and his wife anyway? On the bright side, the film does have some creative kills and the motorcycle helmet-wearing killer looks menacing. Nonetheless, this is a school I would ditch.
- Kevin Ward2 de julio de 2025Very solid giallo/slasher. I loved the opening merry-go-round kill. After the opening, I was really hoping we would be getting a variety of playground kills. Monkey bar massacres, and see-saw slashings. That was not the case, but plenty of heads roll (float) as a result of the knife weilding, motorcycle helmet weilding killer. I was close to 3.5 stars, but the killer was incredibly predictable. Has excellent giallo vibes though.
