It makes sense and is properly made - it's not a true 1 star. The problem is the core concept: two talented actors aggressively withholding what they're good at, not having any native ability in what they've decided to do instead, and not creating a situation that triggers artistic growth. The result is "gritty AND slimy". Try "Feeling Minnesota" instead for a movie where Aykroyd achieves what he meant to do here.
