Monster House Ratings & Reviews
- Incompetent Fool1 de mayo de 2025Somehow just as entertaining an animated movie as it was when i was a child
- Katreina Edelweiss9 de abril de 2026An enjoyable film but the animation did NOT hold up
- Lucas15 de marzo de 2026Classic underrated movie that demonstrated new CGI technology from the time. Fun to watch.
- stuhannaford18 de noviembre de 2025For an animated, child friendly horror, it’s actually quite good. It’s certainly got elements that will appeal to kids of the 80’s and 90’s, with a kind of coming of age feel at times, mixed with a little Rear Window. The animation isn’t particularly perfect, but there is a warmth to the characters that lets you look past that. Some great voice actors to carry the older cast members, and although there isn’t necessarily a huge sense of dread, you do find yourself rooting for the kids as they battle away.
- viktorsmi6 de noviembre de 2025A cult classic of Halloween movies. A must have movie for any Halloween playlist. The story is solid. The plot is pretty original with the whole house being the literal monster on the big screen. The whole "kids vs unknown" aspect is held up to a high standard by producers from Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, which gives it a strong Goonies vibe. Don't let the early motion capture CGI animation to be a put off. The way it was implemented makes it look almost stop motion quality.
- Shaydeknight8 de noviembre de 2025Monster House is a terrific story built on a wonderful concept, one that blends childhood curiosity, suburban legend, and supernatural mystery into a heartfelt adventure. The film is well written and directed, with fantastic voice work from the cast that gives the characters warmth and personality. It's a genuinely clever take on the "scary neighbour" trope, familiar from films like Home Alone or The 'Burbs, but still fresh and engaging thanks to its emotional underpinnings and sense of humour. Where the film falters is in the technology. While it was impressive in 2006, the animation hasn't aged particularly well. The textures are flat, the environments sparse, and the character movements often stiff, especially when compared to contemporary CGI. Watching it now feels a bit like revisiting Pixar's Tin Toy, which was groundbreaking in its day, but undeniably dated in hindsight. It's not ruinous to the experience, but it's noticeable enough to pull you out of the film now and then. Still, the heart of Monster House lies in its story, not its pixels. As the plot unfolds and the kids learn the truth behind the haunted (possessed?) house, the film reveals an unexpectedly moving message about love, loss, and letting go. That emotional core gives it a lasting appeal that transcends its ageing visuals. In short, Monster House remains a strong entry in the animated adventure genre. It's funny, eerie, and surprisingly touching. Its technology may show its age, but its story and spirit haven't lost a bit of charm.
- Amine31 de octubre de 2025🎃 My thoughts after watching Monster House 3D: A really fun and charming animated film with a great spooky vibe and memorable characters. The story still holds up well, and the humor mixes nicely with the darker moments. However, the 3D effects feel pretty average — not bad, but nothing special. Still, the movie itself is enjoyable and perfect for a Halloween watch! 👻 ⭐ Personal Rating: 7.5 / 10
- Ddoughnut16 de octubre de 2025This movie was kind of insane but easily the craziest line was "If it's accidental, it's manslaughter"
- ⋅˚₊‧ EVE ⋆* ‧13 de octubre de 2025og chub chaser
- Ian Dodds11 de octubre de 2025Very good to scare the kids.
