- calbha1 de abril de 2026I rated this two and a half for two and half reasons. Aubrey plaza, eye candy for visuals, and half a star for the story...it's a good movie for testing out a new 4k TV. Thats it.
- George K.21 de diciembre de 2024Don’t watch this film. It’s a masterpiece. 8/10
- brian65837 de abril de 2025Megaflopolis.
- colin klich24 de agosto de 2025If you don’t understand it, yur just too stupid
- PlexCannon18 de enero de 2025lol it's so bad
- Carter Lamberton18 de enero de 2026Just awful, nothing to gain by watching.
- siobhan26614 de enero de 2026What a remarkable film!
- goaliebrain9 de enero de 2026An odd movie that is watchable, but seems not only unfinished but not really sure what kind of movie it wants to be.
- Rachael Brinegar12 de octubre de 2025Very weird. Dialogue is strange, not just the parts that went viral. A completely mucked together ending that made no sense. But, the actors' performances were great and the art design was gorgeous (mostly) and just so very Coppola. It was the visuals, Aubery Plaza and Adam Driver that made me keep watching.
- mwf36911 de agosto de 2025This film is every bit as bad as you heard it was. Still, I don't regret watching it. It featured an amazing cast, and had an interesting story idea. But all of that was overshadowed by wild, unbelievable story tangents, absurd plot devices, mismatched period costumes/accesories, etc. Just an absolute mess.
- vangh118 de diciembre de 2024I had a 20 minutes conversation about the film with the 3 strangers that shared the theatre with me for a 9:35pm Sunday night showing and I'll always appreciate this movie for bringing us together for some entertaining and enlightening conversation. After reading a year ago about this movie's failure to secure distribution after multiple festival screenings, I thought I'd never see it, but I'm so glad I did. Its bizarre, it's big, and at time baffling. It's hit and miss, it wears its heart on its sleeve and it very much feels like a movie that the director self funded. Despite a lot of the dark events that occur throughout, it's an undeniably hopeful movie that has a lot to say about love and its ability to heal. Adam Driver loves weird projects, eh? Put this alongside Annette and Paterson and just revel in the oddity. Absolute Southland Tales vibes. This fumbles the ball a bit less though. (Not a lot less) I myself have pontificated on the parallels of the fall of Rome and some of our modern woes, so it was a joy watching some of that play out on the big screen. Very hard to give this a star rating. Very difficult.
- dorlesk22 de agosto de 2025It's ok the original was better
- whe885 de octubre de 2025Megalopolis is worse than Rebel Moon. Reading people's reviews slamming Megalopolis was more fun than watching the movie.
- NotoriousEdge4 de octubre de 2025An absolute disaster of a movie on so many levels. Completely disjointed nonsense from start to finish. An all time flop that goes in the hall of fame of bad movie that are just bad. Feels like an expensive Neil Breen movie with an all star cast.
- stuhannaford28 de julio de 2025Whilst it’s hard to find something everyone agrees upon about this film, the one thing I’m sure everyone can confirm is that it is ‘weird’. There is a distinct humour to it all, but it is hard to tell what the joke is, what the punchline is, and whether it’s for us the viewer to enjoy, or if the joke is on us. There are long phases of such utter absurdity and indulgence, that it’s so hard to differentiate where the joke lies. Is it pointing directly at Holly’weird’ itself, and the continuing spiral art, be that film, music or fashion, seems to be gripped by? The standard that if something is odd enough, it must by definition, be art, regardless of substance. Or perhaps the obsession of mere mortals, fawning over the God’s of celebrity, unaware that what glitters is certainly not gold? The concept that such celebration of one’s self, gives the feeling of being all powerful, to stop even time, until the most important thing of all is tainted, public image. Or is it a delight at the state of the current world and that despite the passing of time, changing of empires, the status quo remains? The rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, and those with power and money flaunt their wealth for ‘good’ causes, whilst everything that should matter, burns outside their gated mansions. It asks so many questions, most of which either don’t need to be asked or answered. It feels at odds with itself throughout. Grand, yet very Am-Dram. Glittery whilst also unpolished. With the talent on show, it is difficult to believe that they can all be so bad throughout, but yet it feels even more incredible that they could all be so good at deliberately playing so poorly. No matter the message, the core or the effort, it is most definitely weird, and in my opinion, fairly un-enjoyable.
