The twists are there, but they are telegraphed, played with a wink rather than suspense. Performances are stiff, its treatment of women hasn’t aged well, and most of the humor misses its mark.

Neat twists, a good pacing and a likable cast, punching above weight class, make it a strong and fun watch. Also less formulaic than it's follow-ups. Highly recommended for group watches. Ironically fun rating 4.0/5.0. Intended filmmaking rating 3.0/5.0.
