- Peter Bickford29 de enero de 2026Peter Weller (Robocop) leads a better than average cast in a story that's handicapped by the screenplay's need for the crew to act incredibly stupidly in order for the second half of the movie to happen. Scary in the 80s, it doesn't weather nearly as well as either Alien (which it clearly stole much of its inspiration from) or the other underwater thrillers of the late 80s.
- jackmeat28 de enero de 2025My quick rating - 5,8/10. This movie had the unfortunate timing of coming out the same year as a behemoth of a movie dealing with a very similar subject, The Abyss. Putting the comparison aside, this movie still holds up quite well, maybe not as much as The Abyss but still worth watching. The acting is well done and even decades later the creatures look good. This is accentuated by the excellent camera work throughout the confined space of an underwater mining ship. Tons of reviews out there on this one, so I'll end it there.

It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but its mix of Alien and The Thing vibes makes for a tense, creature-filled ride. Solid practical effects, a strong cast, and a moody deep-sea setting help it rise above typical B-movie fare. Not a classic, but definitely a fun watch for sci-fi horror fans.

Bajo las aguas hay una base minera submarina que habitan 8 personas dedicadas a la búsqueda de materiales para extraerlos a la superficie. En una de sus misiones bajo el mar descubren un submarino soviético hundido en el que todo demuestra se estaban realizando experimentos genéticos, como resultado de lo cual habría surgido una monstruosa criatura prácticamente indestructible. Pero los problemas no acaban aquí puesto que aquellos miembros de la base submarina expuestos directamente a los resultados erróneos de este experimento comienzan a sufrir directamente en sus carnes un cambio que los convertiría en medio peces. La lucha por escapar del lugar y destruir a ese monstruo será lo que marque su inmediato destino, porque sino serán devorados por éste.
