But instead of honoring the legacy, it felt like someone crossed the streams of bad improv and studio panic. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, talented cast, wasted on a script that forgot how to be funny or spooky. The ghosts looked like neon leftovers from a theme park ride and the villain? Forgettable. Even Chris Hemsworth couldn’t save it with his airhead receptionist routine. The pacing was off, the jokes landed with a thud and the cameos felt like contractual obligations. They should’ve been put in the ghost trap for making this.

The plot is thin and forgettable, but I’ll give credit where it’s due: the CGI is actually pretty solid. Overall, it’s a frustrating mix of wasted potential and style over substance
- tellum29 de mayo de 2025In the original Ghostbusters the characters are pretty dysfunctional despite being pseudo geniuses, but in this movie the women are not portrayed as genius and are just dysfunctional idiots. Baffling why the script was determined to undermine the actresses for almost the full length of the movie, to the point that the one scene where they get their acts together and display some competency it’s a breath of fresh air. Too bad the rest of the movie makes you choke on unfunny stupidity.
