The best dramatic acting of Elvis Presley's entire film career, thanks in part to Don Siegel's direction and a better than average script. Of interesting note the famous now priceless Andy Warhol painting of Elvis, is a reproduced photo of him taken from this movie "Flaming Star"

"Flaming Star" starts with the typical Elvis flair—a vibrant song and dance sequence—but soon veers into a darker, more violent narrative. The film pushes its themes forcefully, ensuring its message is apparent at every turn. It’s perplexing and unsettling to see characters who have been lifelong friends turn on each other with such severity. This abrupt shift in tone and behavior lends an almost jarring quality to some scenes, which can be unintentionally comical.
