- DropsyRocio23 de abril de 2026This film brings you in it's mystical universe by the humming rhythm of the music, editing and the mirroring see throughs. I had a discussion with my friends about it. One wanted to convince me that it's is about the 'male gaze', because of its voyeurism. I told him that almost all films made by men are the male gaze and that we have distinguish voyeurism from this 'male gaze'. Because this film for me was about trauma, beauty, immigrants and repetition. Yes, there is some voyeurism, but that is what films and stories inherently are. We 'look' at them and I just didn't feel differently from other films in the sense that we are always spying on others peoples stories. Why only 4.5 star and not 5? Because a 5 for me must utter and complete recognition. Exotica is a life changing film too, but the lead male and the slow unfolding plot was in the end untouchable to me.
