Dual has an interesting premise, but unfortunately it never really worked for me. The idea of having to face your own replacement could have made for a much more interesting science-fiction story, but I found the writing too thin to make the concept as compelling as it should have been. It's clearly a low-budget production, although that isn't necessarily a problem, the film does a reasonable job with what it has. For me, the bigger issue is that the characters and story never gave me enough reason to become invested. The deliberately dry and detached tone also made it difficult to connect emotionally with what was happening. There are some interesting ideas here, and I can understand why the film has found an audience, but personally I didn't get much out of it. It felt like a good concept that needed a much stronger script.

Fun action drama with a side of existential dread. Karen Gillan (Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy and one of my favourite Doctor Who companions) brings human, and some believability, to an otherwise ludicrous premise

This was great, Riley Stearns knows how to write and director dark comedies! It’s definitely not for everyone, it’s not faced paced, it’s not action packed, so if you’re going in thinking it’s supposed to be, you will be disappointed. The amount of people that seem to not understand dark, dry humour is kind of hilarious in itself! There were so many great lines and scenes! Loved it 😍
